More About Sophia Murphy
Clinical Interests:
My clinical interests include working with children and adults experiencing a variety of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and hoarding disorder. I am particularly interested in utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and exposure and response prevention (ERP), to help clients manage symptoms, develop effective coping strategies, and improve their overall quality of life. I am also interested in incorporating mindfulness-based and holistic approaches to support clients’ emotional, mental, and overall well-being.
Clinical Approach:
My clinical approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and holistic. I am open to a variety of therapeutic theories and approaches, tailoring my work to best meet each client’s unique needs, goals, and experiences. I incorporate techniques from CBT, DBT, ERP, and mindfulness-based practices while remaining flexible in exploring other approaches that may benefit my clients. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard and understood. I value building strong therapeutic relationships grounded in trust and empathy while helping clients recognize their strengths, develop effective coping strategies, and work toward meaningful change.
Hobbies:
Outside of work, I’m an animal lover who enjoys spending time with my husband and our three pets: my dog, Penny, and my cats, Kit and Cat. I love going for walks, spending time with friends and family, and getting creative in the kitchen through cooking and baking. In my downtime, you’ll often find me watching true crime shows, playing card games, or cheering on the Vikings on Sundays.
